I went camping with a group this weekend at a state park and we ran into bandits--small, furry and wearing masks! they sneaked into our campsite at night and though we chased them away, they kept coming back. they were young as well--real hoodlums. Finally they all climbed a tree and stayed up there--I guess that's what they really wanted in the first place, was to get to their tree. They were so cute--they kept looking at us from behind a tree and probably thought we were crazy to be yelling at them and chasing them. At least they weren't black and white... Cindy
We're headed to a state park this weekend that is notorious for the same bandits. They're sure brave too - come out in the middle of the day to burglarize the campsites. Brave little souls. Makes me angry when some unsuspecting campers actually help them out with their loot. They think it's "cute" to toss hot dogs to them. Grrr!
We bought hubby a game camera that we take camping with us. Mount it to a tree and it will take pics during the night of anything that comes into camp. We look at the pics when we get home. We caught a Mom teaching her kits how to thieve! They start em' young!
Good thing we know to put our cooler & garbage in the truck.
the mothers of these bandits are notorious for teaching thievery. One of the campers told a story of how when he was young, was trailer camping and it was night. They had the outside lights on--suddenly, the power went off. All was dark. They shined their flashlights and beheld a bandit holding the plug (now unplugged) and another bandit was trying to get the food. these guys are sneaky! (He swears this is a true story) Cindy
