I have been looking for something to make out of my late fathers old pants. Also something I could make for my brother and sisters. I came across this website.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

that idea is really cute. how about a quilt made form them, if you have enough, memory quilts are always a good idea. Or pillows for each one of you. something they can look at and hold every day

I agree with the quilt idea
It would help you too when you make it.
Bringing back the times you spent with him, hugs sheila

I do not have the skills to make a quilt. I may try the pillows. I like that idea.

When my father passed I felt a calling to make rosaries. I got the number in my head to make a 100. There were times I felt like...shouldnt the number be 25?, lol. But I kept on. I had 113 when I did a final count. It was really healing for me to do that for my father. I prayed as I made each one. I got them all blessed at my church.

I thought about making a pillow with a chain attached to a personal item of my dads that sits in a pocket...sort of like a pocket watch.

I will let you know how they turn out. Thanks everyone.

I'm sorry about your dad's passing. I think the rosaries you made was an excellent idea. You could make picture frames and use some of the material from your dad's clothes to line the inside. A friend of mine did that and it came out super cute.

I have made Christmas stockings out of some older quilts and ladies hankies and I think the pants would make nice ones too. If you don't want to do the whole thing you could just use the pants to make the cuff. Then you could fill the stockings with some nice homemade gifts for a Christmas present.

The pillow with the chain idea is wonderful. That sounds like it would comfort the people in your family.

Thanks, those are awesome ideas. I want to make them for Christmas as this will be our first one without my dad.

I appreciate the ideas, truly.
