Ok, so i see all these threads to swap this and that, and i have seen some really cute ideas! I would love to start a new swap but i'm wondering if anyone has some ideas that they would like to make a swap. I will probably start a new thread once i find something to swap!

Linda, I love your idea because they're something useful...but how'z about a set of 2? I usually use 2 at a time and it's not much more work to make 2. Just thinking out loud.

We could do hand made cloth shopping bags

The cloth shopping bags have been done twice within the last year but I think some people would still do it again.

We did have a purse swap one time and all used the same pattern (or close to it). I like the larger purses and there was a small purse swap recently. There are free patterns online even nice ones with pockets etc.

I like the theme potholder the best so far. I think it's been years since we had one and people love potholders!

I have another idea (actually Stephanie's--queenofdreamz idea a long time ago): an apron pocket swap OR contest. She had the idea of making pockets so many different ways! I liked the quilt patch type with embelishments...beads, ribbons etc. Of course washable is best because I use all my aprons.

what do you think??

LOVE the potholders ( I can participate in this one, mailing is not too much that way ) WHAT do you do with an apron pocket? I know what an apron pocket is ON an apron, but a separate one?? Silly question maybe, duh ;)

I think Stephanie was making something to hang things in to go on her wall.
I think the pockets would go on a new apron we would make ourselves OR can be added to any apron. I loved the idea. There are other crafty things to do with the pockets...don't ya think?

What about a blue jean purse?? They are easy to make and ya don't even need a sewing machine. I have seen them done lots of ways and also free tutorials on UTUBE. I would LOVE to do this!!

I like the potholders idea best so far too. You can never have too many potholders. And the Apron pockets idea is interesting too. Linda, you're just full of good ideas.

What about making produce bags instead of tote bags. The bad thing is they can't be too fancy cuz that would add weight. But maybe make 2-3 produce bags and a fun little bag to keep them in? Just thinkin'

What about seeds for next year's gardens? Heirlooms would be nice. I harvest my own seed. I know this isnt sewing, but still a good swapping idea.

I luv the potholder swap. I just saw a book with potholder ideas in it and fell in love. Am thinking that's what I'll do for some christmas presents. Please, please, please. Let's do that one.

Have a good day!

Well I think I have my potholder idea brewing. I love vintage fruit and veggies with quaint embroidered little faces. Kinda primitive, punky & 50s with period fabrics. I'll have to make some for me too. I've used vintage crochet potholders for years because they're the right size...not big, thick and awkward. They're getting harder to find though. shery

I love the cloth napkin idea, in fact I thought of doing that then wondered if there would be any interest, i redently made 24 vintage style cloth napkins for my sil bridal shower, they were a big hit, and now I have a bunch of napkins I can use for a brunch or teaparty.

I would like to be in on a crochet pot holder swap. Attic Annie has a book, Heirloom Thread Pot Holders, there are several vintage patterns with various skill levels. Sounds like fun!
