Remember the 5th wheel that we sold to help the lady out and to get it sold?? Now they are down to 'only' $800 to pay it off.

So, today I called her (it's always me calling her, otherwise I'd never hear a thing) and she said she'd send $300 and I could just come pick up the deck for the other $500!!! What??

She said she didn't really need the deck anyway. I replied that we gave her the deck in the deal, no price on it, cuz we don't have a way to move it and to dismantle it and then move it would take way over any $500. I sold her the 5th wheel for X amount and threw in the deck as a present.

Can you believe??? Also, a MAJOR complaint about the cooling system. But I sold the d*mn thing 'as is, where is'. It worked when she signed the contract. Things break, that's the way it goes. Right before we sold it, we replaced the electrical box thingy for almost $400...we didn't recoup that money. We sold the 5th wheel for a lot less than we bought it and only lived in it sporadically due to being OTR truck drivers.

I'm telling you guys, I'm about ready to pick the thing up and resell it. Trouble is, it would cost me not-quite-the-$800 to do everything so here we are.

Okay, rant over but I thought you guys would love to hear THIS one!

Lesson learned and learned!

Winona

I would be just as upset as you are. Really! However, take a deep breath!!!!!!!!! I have had that happen to me before. Never again. If I sell something they bring the CASH or else. Period. I'm glad you vented. I hope it helped. Take care.

Winona, boy do I relate to this. I had a very productive business for years and I can't tell you how many times I got burned. I finally had to get really cold hearted and strictly business. To tell you the truth , sometimes it was Churches that were the worst. I know I shouldn't feel like this, but I really don't trust a lot of people and when they appear to be really needy I try to reallly check it out because some of them are really good con artists.

Thanks for the support. I'm supposed to call her again tomorrow to find out how much money she can come up with. I'll probably have to come here to vent again!! :-) I'm already imagining all sorts of excuses and double talk... Just pay the thing off!!

Never again, never again....

Winona ;-)

My rule now is never loan or finance anything that I will be uset about if I never get a dime back out of it. That way I am emotionally unaffected if it doesn't turn out. It will finally pass and you can put it behind you. The lessons we all learn...... the hard way.

So sorry you are having these problems. But don't take it to heart--karma has a strange way of smoothing these things out.
