My Father inlaw gave this to me many years ago, he called it an egg basket. He said it was his mother's and grandmothers.

It is surely and egg basket. I think they were also called hip baskets for obvious reasons. Pick it up and see how nicely it rests on your hip

I have one like it;
My husband's mom gave it to us ; it was used as an egg basket on his garndmother's farm
this is where we are moving to

I commented on your blog too, Nancy, but I have also seen your basket called a buttocks baskets, and you can check them out on Ebay by searching for vintage buttocks baskets. I took photos of a couple of mine on my blog in the March posts, and go see them too!

I really notice we like the same things a lot!
