My mom uses the stainless steel kind, and as far as I know she has never had a problem with it scratching. I have a plastic one, and I wished I had gotten the steel kind now, as my had a tendency to give and it makes for the dishes slipping out easily. :) hugs

I have a stainless steel rack and it's never scratched my dishes. What kind of dishes do you have? All mine are stoneware (no china). Cindy

I don't know if the one I got is coated or not. I didn't even think about them being coated. I might wash it up and use it on my old ones for awhile. Hubby keeps saying in about 2 weeks. I am getting tired of 2 weeks. But, I think we are just about ready to move into our new farm house. At least I am hoping. hugs sheila

I had a stainless steel one and I despised it and donated it to Goodwill. It was nice looking, but the dishes didn't stay put, I couldn't fit many in there, and it got stains all over it all the time and looked grungy. Flatware was impossible to keep in it, too. I'd use a coated metal one, or a wood one. |
