Hey, all you Farmgirls of the Mitten sisters! Just wanted to let you know that I dropped Beverley's and peachy's chapter certificates and paraphernalia in the mail this afternoon, so keep your eyes peeled for big envelopes!
And if you haven't had a chance to send me your info, please do so and I will send out your goodies as well!

It has been a while since we all chatted....I've hit the ground running here in mid-michigan too. Some family stress and of course back to work/school....Our relay for life in just two weeks and I'm a team captain!... I bought myself a little art frame that says 'stop me before I volunteer again!".....Oh and my oldest just turned 16 this weekend.
Is it too much to say...that it's not even the "holiday" season and I'm exhausted already!!!!
ooo...gail...you are almost to port huron! |

Well, definitely keep me informed, our move to Michigan is seeming more and more real.
We've been assigned a realtor by my husband's company's relocation department, been poring over real estate listings online and have narrowed it down to 4 or 5 potential properties. May schedule an appointment to view them next week.
I was looking all over SE Michigan north of 8 mile and east of 75, and funny thing is, 3 of the 4 properties are on 34 Mile Road. Is that too weird, or what? Or do you have to go north of 32 Mile to find anything more than 1/2 acre? What's a farmgirl to do?

Hello to you farmgals up there in Michigan. Am looking forward to returning to Michigan, my home state that I love dearly, as a summer resident. Just purchased 10 acres in the woods "up north" near Mio. Love it and the cool summers. Currently am a resident of Arkansas where we moved 25 years ago. Now we can return to our beautiful home state for the summers. Can't wait. We just returned to Ark from Mi four days ago after spending amonth up there. Came back to Ar with enough wild crab apples which I turned into beautiful jelly yesterday and today made apple sauce and apple butter with the fresh apples we bought at "Flavor Fresh Farms" south of Jackson Michigan, on the way home. Looking forward to connecting with other farm girls when we get home to Michigan. N@n from Arkansas and Michigan
keep searchin'-it's out there somewhere. |

Hey again Michigan ladies :D
StarMeadow - I'm pretty sure your friend was a regular at the restaurant I worked at years ago. Quiet, nice, brown haired guy who loved to read at breakfast - small world!
Melissa -we're at tsc regularly too. Neat blog :) Do you know the Johnson's? Good friend who grew up in Glenn, just east of blue star.
I'm hoping after this last class and requisite research and paper, there will be time to do all the 'stuff' I like to putter around doing; the half-stripped white treadle in the barn, craft projects, more baking, being more active here and getting out to meet some of you all!
Glad to be back

I am very anxiously awaiting customer approval on my resume - I have been waiting for project definition and approval, and finally the purchase order has been signed, the last thing is to have customer approval on "me" - if they say "yes" I need to be working in Warren on Nov. 1.
DH and I have been looking for houses more than 1/2 acre in the entire metro Detroit area - you would be surprised how few there are. How can I have a garden in less than 1/2 acre? and DH wants a 2nd garage so he can do his mechanic hobby thing -- so our selection has been limited.
Anyone on here from Armada or Romeo? That seems to be where most of the properties in our search are coming up.

Too cool. We work through Kiva. What a great project though. I think it sounds like a fun. You can't go wrong with pancakes for breakfast and hotdogs for lunch! ;-) |

The site looks great Melissa! Love the quilts :D Would you be cool with local pick-up of items? I don't have any fun $ right now, but when I do I'd love to knock a couple folks into the Done gift list. Cool store!

Hello Michiganders! We should all start something fun! Like a roundrobin of letters, handmade gifts or something. Lets get this group active. Though I'm not in MI right now i like to pretend I am. I still have my MI license and plates. I refuse to change, LOL! Not to mention you have to pay tax on your car every year in NC, booo! I paid taxes when i bought it!
