By giving me confidence to try growing a vegetable garden....what real fun and such a sence of pride when I pick my own home grown produce----love it love it love it.
Also , even though I belonged to a global warming group here in Marlboro...I got more of a desire to recycle, and conserve from my gal friends here...and I thank you for that.
Lastly, how great this sisterhood is.....I appreciate you all for sharing your stories with me. I'm really just a farm gal at heart.
Have a great day. Beverly |

I hear you on all accounts! My gardening skills have dramitically improved. How wonderful is it to eat or share something that you grew from seed! Just watching things grow and blossom to me is truly amazing! Yes, coudos to all my fellow farmgirls!

Hey Beverly, I think most of us feel that way. Thanks for saying it so beautifully. It has been really fun to watch the changes is my "yard, home, and life" as well as those in my Farmgirl Chapter here in Prosser as well. Love it! Thanks for the reminder.

I couldn't agree more! It's also nice to know I'm not alone in my "old-fashioned" endeavors...makes it a lot easier to ignore the giggles and goofy looks from neighbors/family when I tell them what I'm up to!

Beverly-
I feel so much the same way! I think the ladies here help keep me focused on things that are important like family, our planet, and friendship. I wake up each morning wondering how my friends are doing and part of my bed time routine is reading the forum one last time. Before I knew about MaryJanes farm the closest I felt to this was when I lived in an all girls dormitory my first year of college. My whole wing was really good friends with each other and we would stay up late chatting and walk to breakfast together first thing in the morning. It was wonderful and I love having that feeling of community here too!

I agree Beverly. After I planted my garden I had little striped bugs chewing on my plants. I thought I know what to do...soapy water and learned that from the farm girls on this forum and it worked like a charm.

I couldn't agree more!
Even my sister has noticed a difference in me. Just yesterday, she said that I was really turning into a "farm girl". Couldn't ask for a better compliment!

Good morning farmgirl sisters, Kelly said it for me too. I always felt out of place, lots of giggles & funny looks, people not understanding. Why not just go buy it, instead of working harder to do it myself. Whether its sewing, gardening & canning. Even raising chickens for the eggs. People at work always ask me why? I always tell them its better for you. The joy in doing it. Thank goodness for MaryJane. Here we are understood. There is nothing like playing in the dirt, putting that little seed in the earth. Watching over it, seeing it grow. How cool to go out & pick it, knowing you have just supplied your family with good healthy food. You did it, what a wonderful feeling . Hugs, Grace
