Hey everyone!
I'll just give you a short story of my question
I have three girls and with each girl we knew right away which name we wanted. Never once during my whole pregnancy of all three girls did we find a boys name that we liked. I recently went to my first ultrasound and found out that number four a BOY. Uh oh I have a girls name already picked out but NO boys name! Can you ladies give me a whole bunch of nice but unique boys name? DH and I are at a loss LOL |

Ha Ha! I feel your pain!!! We are expecting #4 as well so we have the opposite problem! We have Titus and William and if this baby was a boy it was going to be Gabriel. We also had talked about Gideon and Solomon. What was your girls names? Maybe we can swap names and find a winner for both of us!!! |

Well, my boys are Wyatt Matthew and Carson Gabriel, so I am pretty partial to those names!! We also liked Gideon, Joshua, Benjamin, Levi, Harrison, Zeke, and several others that I can't remember right now. But I will be watching this thread to see more names in case we get another boy next time. I love naming babies! Do you care to share what your girl's name was going to be? |

Girls names do seem to be easier to pick than boys, don't they? Our little one turned out to be a girl (Violet Mae) but if she was a boy, we finally decided upon Leo Aloysius (my husband is a 4th gen. Aloysius--those Irish!!!), but we did have several in the running.
Xander (Zzzzander) August Ellis (this was a real toss up with Leo)...
We chose names that meant something to us, because it would be our first--Leo, because my husband is a Leo, and our anniversary is also in August (it's a good month!). That's also why we liked August for a name... Ellis was for my dad...it's a partial name to a racetrack in Henderson, Kentucky (Ellis Park) where I spent the happiest days of my childhood every summer, when daddy worked there. I would spend the whole summer with him, while Mom camed to visit when she could get off work.
Xander was a name of my husband's childhood best friend--he just simply liked the name :)

That was one of our choices early on, Nancy (Jackson Paul Aloysius Lynch) but around here, it's become Soooooo popular, and everytime I was in Target and there was some kid having a meltdown, his name was Jackson!!! We didn't want him to be in school and be a member of the Jackson 5 or something!

I would suggest looking in your family tree for names. Awhile back there was a thread about wierd family names.. you may find some there you like!
OUr children are named after family I've got 2 boys Camron William and Payne Darwin. If #4 is a boy it will be Sheldon Dean.
Besides you might score favorite points if you name your babe after a long lost uncle or cousin ;)

We have 2 girls, but would have named a boy either Anthony or Spencer. It's hard being a teacher and finding names that don't have "baggage" with them.

Sorry for the delayed response!! I went to the city so I couldn't get back to anyone. My girls names are Breanna Marie, Syrena Peyton, and Kaitelyn Sophia. I still haven't found a boys name that really sticks. My husband threw in Elijah Jacob or Elisha Jacob. It just seems so hard to pick a boys name for me. I had Lillian Elizabeth pick out if this baby was going to be a girl.
I kind of like Josiah though.

My boys are Corey, Casey, Justin, Travis and Dalton. Not really different, but not the most common either. I have always loved the names Gavin and Tristan.

Tristan is from the legend of Tristan and Isolde, he was a celtic warrior that came to Britain as part of King Marcus (Cunomorous)'s court, and he loved him like a son. In turn, Tristan fell madly in love with Marcus' bride, Isolde and they ran off together.
In England, just outside of the small village of Foy, there is a standing stone on a roadside, written in Roman (Drustanus, sone of Marcus Cunomourous) on one side, and the other references Isolde, bringing some "reality" to the legend. I have photos of the stone if you ever want to see them :)

Tina above mentioned Josiah as the first name on her list. My grandson's name is Josiah. In the bible, Josiah was one of the few Godly kings in the old testament, and tried hard to do the Lord's will.
I really believe a name means a lot and makes an impact on the child and person a baby grows up to be.
If we had had a boy, we liked the names Matthew Stewart or Adam Thomas.

Boys names are hard...we had a girl and we're trying for another so everytime we hear a name we both look at eachother and go "Tommy?" No. So the ones we like are Jack, Arthur, Sawyer, Eli, Lawson and Logan. I am partial to Grayden, but DH doesn't like it. I think Grady sounds like a great Quarterback name ;-).

My daughter's name is Carter, but it's a great name for either a girl or a boy. If she had been a boy, he'd have been Seth. I also really like my dad's name: Myles Julian. Congrats and good luck.
