I don't know why this just occured to me but does anyone else can their peaches in fruit juice (i.e. apple, pear or white grape) instead of syrup?
I'm wondering how it turns out. I have always canned mine in a light homemade syrup but would love to get away from the refined sugar if possible and juice seems like a perfectly good alternative.
If anyone could share their experience I'd be greatful!

Yes, you sure can. It costs alot more and that is the main reason that I usually don't, but have before.

I have used a light sugar syrup, but also just water. And just water is pretty good too! And you can always add honey or another natural sweetener after you open them.

I just canned 65 jars of peaches and used only hot water. I'm not real fond of sugary fruits. This way they can be sweetened when opened for whatever you are using them for.
Good luck
