This thread is fascinating about how farms actually get named. This Farmgirl has always lived in the suburbs, but since I can't live on a farm, I created my office space into a log cabin with wallpaper and paint!! It is filled with old antiques and primitives which is what I would love to have if I could have a farm with a log cabin!

Winnie you can name your home like the British name their cottages. I live in a small house - on a small lot - in Paris - a town of 24,000. I named my home Little Eden because it's my little Eden. Then I have my Yellow Rose Cottage.

BTW I always like looking at your log house room. Well done.

Ok,, after much thinking... and watching the mama quails and their newly hatched brood,,, we now know what our little 13 1/2 ac ranchette should be called...

Dh made the sign...

We will be putting in a new driveway this summer,, and the sign will go out front on the gate, but for now, it is attached on my garden fence.

Sara,, many years ago a MJF friend made me a little tote bag that had a lead rope on it... and that read:
I've either lost a horse or found a rope!
That's how I feel sometimes.. lolol!

Grace, I really like that new name for your farm! And Hubby did an awesome job with the first announcement of a new name. Weather proof and everything!! Hehehe, I am thinking those Pink Flamingoes must be lost because they sure area long way from home!! LOL!!! Just goes to show you, they might be deciding that even Florida is too hot for them too and heard about the nice summers in the Pacific NW from some of the Winter birds who come and stay down in the Miami area.!! LOL@!! Shoot, I would do the same thing because it has been punishing hot and humid here the past 2 weeks!

I named our farm God's half acre because my part of our property for raising veggies and flowers is approximately 1/2 acre. And truth be told it ALL belongs to God so that's where the name began.

I searched for so long for our farm so four years ago when we finally found it I knew it needed a very special name. The perfect name came to me shortly after purchase as we were moving in. It is named after both our mothers. My husband’s mom’s name was Gladys and my mom’s name was Lori and so to honor them we chose Morning Glori Farm. “Glori” is a perfect combination of their names and pays such a beautiful tribute to the incredible strength and wisdom that they both showed throughout their lives and to the true legacy of love that was left behind. I hope our farm will reflect all this and more in the years to come.

It's been ages since I visited this thread. I didn't see Jana response. The two reasons Jana were because of all the lilacs that are here in the woods and because our house is on a hilltop.
