Girls I am so sorry that I delayed announcing the winner of this contest, life got in the way.

I recently had knee surgery and between recovering and just struggling to get around, cook dinner and keep up with all the stuff coming up ripe in my garden (zucchini, cucumbers, beets, lettuce, sweet corn not to mention the wild arugula and hairy galinsogas, a heavy load at work, and a new grandson, I just wasn't able to give the attention to the contest that I had anticipated.

So, enough with the excuses! Who won?

I announced on my blog! Could Serene bean and 1badmamawolf please contact me to claim their prizes?

Oh my gosh, did I get it backwards when I flipped between pages... How embarrasing! Let me double-check.

Oh, dear, I'm in a pickLe! I did enjoy the stuffed zucchini too, and that is what I was thinking when I picked your name, but I also loved the variations of the chips.

So I'm going to award an additional prize - tied for second place, the chips by Lisa Marie and the stuffed zuchinis by 1badmamawolf. I have two vintage aprons so I will send each of you one.

I really picked poor timing for this contest, I am afraid. Today's the first chance I've had to get on the computer for several days. My father went into intensive care last week, he's still struggling with amiodarone toxicity in his lungs that he had the problem with in February - he has an oxygen mask, can't feed himself in hospital due to rotator cuff problems so my whole family has been rotating schedules at the hospital. The doctor told me yesterday it is 50-50 whether he is going to get better or worse, which will require the ventilator again, which is probably going to just really discourage my 76-year-old dad. To top it off my in-laws were in town for a wedding and I ended up hostessing an impromptu gathering yesterday for 20 people. I promise to get the prizes out this week, I want to starch the aprons before sending (the vintage aprons were made of a lightweight fabric) and sadly this has not been my highest priority.

Brenda, sorry that your father is ill, I will put him and you in my prayers. When you have time and your father is better, then you can deal with the prizes.
