i made them at an 'historical arts camp' a few years back .. too many 'steps' to remember what all we did ... wasn't even very pleased with the two i made though .. but some were BEAUTIFUL! i googled 'painted floorcloths' and came up with this book from amazon.com ... and it is only $6.
go to this site http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1579901344/002-4181354-9107213?v=glance&n=283155
The Weekend Crafter: Painting Floorcloths: 20 Canvas Rugs to Stamp, Stencil, Sponge, and Spatter in a Weekend (Paperback) by Kathy Cooper
this one is listed on the same page: Floorcloth Magic: How to Paint Canvas Rugs for... by Lisa Curry Mair
also GOOGLE for FLOORCLOTHS .. quite a bit on the net for floorcloths.
HORSEFEATHERS ... wowzer .. these are very expensive but EYE CANDY! http://www.horsefeathersranch.com/anelson.htm
i know you'll have fun doing these .. want to see pictures when you are finished. xo

Thanks, Frannie! I know they are very expensive to purchase, but I have seen some really nice ones. When you did yours did you use stencils? I am taking a couple of Rufus Porter aret classes (historical) and really love the look, so thought it would be nice to make a "cloth" for the floor. In my spare time!! Thanks for your help. I will check out the books and let you know how I make out. Sandy |
