subscribe to , besides MJF?
I love "Grit, Countryside, Mother earth news, Backwoods Home, Organic Gardening, & Living The Country Life. There are a few others that sometimes have good, useful articles, but i buy them off the stands, cause more times than not, that months issue is not worth the price.

I subscribe to The Bark (a magazine about dogs that DOESN'T have adds for dogs for sale, ie., no puppy mills)and also to Poets & Writers. I'm looking for the magazine Urban Homestead but I can't find it around here. I also like Hobby Farm Home and Organic Gardening. Plus once in a while I'll buy a fashion magazine just to get ideas.

besides MJF I subscribe to BAckwoods Home, Countryside and Farm and Ranch (that one is actually a gift from a friend who gets it for me for my birthday each year) and I like to buy issues of Mother Earth, Hobby Farm or Herbs Quarterly when they have something of interest to me.

I am so glad that I looked at this topic because Victoria was one of my favorites years ago - I didn't know that it was still around.

I love magazines. I get MJF, National Geographic, The Sun (no ads - all writing, mostly fiction and poetry, it is like Cricket for grown ups), Cooks Illustrated, American Girl for my 9yr old, Kids Discover (I won't be renewing - they don't get into it) Kids Nat. Geographic (we were not impressed and won't be renewing that either).

I occasionally buy a martha stewart issue - I love the easter magazine each year.

I wish I could afford Science Weekly and a political mag of some kind - Maybe Mother Jones.

Online I read Scientific American and the Economist. I LOVE the Economist - I have learned so much from this journal.

I get hand me downs of Dwell Magazine - a modern homebuiding and design focus. Very good quality mag and mind expanding - get out of the comfort zone! I am trying to make my little shack into a modern farmhouse.

I love the magazine Country. My mother in law pays for my subscription as part of my Christmas present. It has articles about living in the country(like a week in the life of a country family) and recipies, but just breathtaking photography. As an artist I often paint the landscape from the magazine. The photos are just crystal clear and detailed shots.

My favs besides MJF are Better Homes and Gardens, Country Woman, Country Home, Family Circle and Traditional Home. DH also buys me Woman's Day every Friday when it comes out before he leaves work. Every once in awhile I'll pick up a beading or crafting magazine when I need inspiration.

When we go to the city I buy MJF, Interweave Press mags: Piecework, Spin-Off, Herb Companion. Also, a few Somerset mags-I share those w/dgd. Vegetarian Times and Veg News, Hobby Farm. Occasionally others. I also pick up a bridal mag now and then, because I love to get new ideas on favors, and decor, food, etc. (Probably was a planner/caterer in another life). lol.

The faves I subscribe to are:

MJF (Just received my first issue of the plum easy)
Martha Stewart
Country Living and
Rachael Ray.

Used to get a ton more when my daughter had those magazaine drives at school, but once she got out that expense stopped. Hee hee!!!

Have a good day!

I have a weakness for magazines, and only have a few subscriptions. Others I buy off stands when the contents look good.

Country Living
Victoria ( I get old issues of these at the Goodwill bookstore, also)
Equus
Romantic Country
Country Victorian
Southern Living
Progressive Farmer (My hubby's, but I read it too)
I really dislike Martha Stewart Living. That is just about the only magazine I would never consider subscribing to.
