In the northeast, this has been the rainiest and coolest June that I can recall. We've had, in 22 days, at least 20 with rainfall...most of the time heavy. I know other parts of the country are experiencing this, too. This is a perfect recipe for mosquitoes..standing water and puddles are ideal breeding grounds. This summer is going to be horrible with the little suckers! All I can say is.... really stock up on 'Deet'!

Yep, dump out any standing water, try to dry out areas around your house and get some cintronella

Don't you just hate mosquitoes ?! Luckily, here in Indiana, they are not year round. When we were in Calif. we dealt with them all the time...yuck. Don't run out of repellent. :) ~Cheri

Ours just came out the last 2 days. As soon as you step outside, they attack! We don't have them for very long, soon as the hay meadows dry up. I'll trade the heat for the bugs any day!

I just read an article about juniper oil being used for a repellent. Will try that....I hate to use Harsh chemical ones.. Good luck all..The biters are back..

We here where I live have to worry about "West Nile Virus" from the skeets, it will kill human and animals alike, if not treated properly and on time.

We've had a pretty warm and dry late spring/early summer. But the other night we had a very intense thunderstorm, followed by a misty morning. I swear I could hear the mosquitoes hatching. We worry about the West Nile Virus in Canada too, and I'm also concerned that my pup doesn't get bitten too badly.
