I have often heard there was such a thing, but today was my first time to actually see one. It was closed as we passed, but what great things I saw in the window. As I am looking to buy a new house, I plan on crossing their threshold often. There are tons of vitorian and craftsman style homes here, both styles I like. I saw some furniture and such that I want to take home with me, when I get one. I am a big reuser, and can't wait to get through those doors. Anyone else have a HFH store they frequent?

Mike and I buy a lot of things for building our cabin at the HFH store in Olympia. If you haven't been to that one, you should check it out. We also bought a bedroom set there when we moved into the house we're living in now. It was a beautiful cannonball bed, a dresser and mirror and a chest of drawers - all in perfect condition - for $200. Great deals and a good cause.

We have a HFH store in Madison- I have donated items there before. My daughters and I built with HFH 7 years ago, so as I have changed things in our home the "seasoned" items go there to help someone else. When we were building, there was a VERY wealthy family building a new home and we had the chance to go into the "old" home and recycle doors, trim, hardwood flooring, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets etc. etc. There are many of those items in my home- those items have added so much more character to our home, a few nicks and dings are what I'm all about- in my home, body, spirit and mind! It's a great opportunity to reuse and not fill the landfills with treasures!! xoxo-Lori

Ooo, Sheri, I will have to check out the HFH store in Oly. I am hoping to check out the one in Shelton this week. After I get back from farm fair, maybe we can get together for coffee at the Rusty Tractor.
Lori, I have always wanted to go into a house to rescue old hardware and such, I would have loved to been with you.
I will be looking at a few houses this week, all so far are craftsman style homes. I am really excited at the prospects! The HFH stores will come in handy.
