Alee's post over in Across the Fence about what Nora has been getting into gave me this idea. We all have them so, let's get a good laugh over them. Here's the first one that comes to my mind:

When my boys were 18 months and 2 1/2, I was in an apartment where their bedroom was right off of mine and I had my bed set up so I could see directly in their room. Christopher was in a bed, but Nathan was still in a crib. I woke one morning listening to them talk back and forth and I could hear them playing with their toys. I just laid in bed listening to them but, dozed off at some point. When I woke again, I listened for them but didn't hear them at all (first sign that something's up) and didn't see them in their respective beds. I jumped out of bed and went in search of them and found them both sitting on the floor in the kitchen in front of an open cupboard...with a can of Crisco between them. Crisco in their hair, both hands full, their mouths full (blech!), it was completely covering their nearly naked bodies. They had taken their pj's off and like greased pigs; I couldn't even pick them up to get them into the tub! I had to wipe them down with rags just to get a bare spot to pick them up by! At first, I felt a twinge of panic at whether or not the Crisco would hurt them and then realized that more than likely, they just wouldn't suffer from constipation for a while. Baby shampoo was not good enough to get the grease out of their hair and I had to use Dawn!

So, bring on the funny stories, gals. There's got to be a thousand of them.

That reminds me of what my son Martin got into when he was about 18 months old. He came out of the pantry one morning, wearing only a diaper and half a quart jar of HONEY! There was honey on every surface in the pantry ,and the kitchen from about two feet down. His dad bathed him, and of course had to hose himself off afterwards as well. Boys. When there is no noise it is always time to investiigate! I wish I had taken a picture of him clutching the jar to his chest, then again it might just have been stuck there....

Oh my!!! Those are soooo funny!!! Violet is still too little to get into anything, but my favorite story about little one's antics is one Justin's mother tells all the time. My husband has a notorious sweet tooth, and as a child, about 3, when everyone was asleep, he would climb the Hoosier Cabinet to get into the sweet baking chocolate she had stashed in containers and eat his fill. So, true to form, he waited till the house was quiet, and began his climb up the Hoosier. He reached into the container holding the sweet cocoa and took a big chunk off and put it in his mouth....but wait!!! Something was terribly wrong...little did he know, she had replaced the sweet cocoa with unsweetened dark baking chocolate and while he was trying to spit it out, gagging and making the most awful face, she popped out from the butler's pantry and said, "Don't you DARE spit that out! You're going to finish every last bit of that in your mouth!!" She said he NEVER did it again :)

Too funny! I look forward to hearing about Violet's antics as she grows.
