Well...this afternoon I quit my job at the Harbors...feeling a little queasy as Bruce will be home shortly and feathers are going to fly.

I just could not get into the position I was hired for. We have only had 2 residents now for about a week and it was a real challenge for me to be their "waitress" for lunch and dinner which was between 11:00 to 7:00 in the evening. Didn't care for the hours at all or the very strong personality clashes of the director and assisistant director and me....So after a heated meeting the day before regarding getting hours cut and remembering to punch out for lunch, which was a joke and no breaks. I decided it was not for me. You can only imagine the relief I feel mixed with the awful dread of trying to find a job that I was meant for TRANSCRIPTION! Or maybe I am just supposed to be home with the kids is that so awful to want to be home and garden and sew and read and take care of your home? I am torn right now and very, very tired.

Thank you dear sisters I apppreciate you letting me "vent" once again!

Have a safe and "fun" weekend with your families.

Love

Melody

Oh Melody! I am so sorry that the job didn't work out! I know you were so excited at the beginning! But there is nothing worse that working at a job where you are miserable! *hugs*!

Oh Melody!
Let the feathers fly!
...then pop open a beer, one for you, one for Bruce.
then head on out to the garden and pull some weeds while you think of what sweet dessert to make tonight. ;)

Nothing, I repeat NOTHING is wrong with wanting to be home with your kids and doing things there. That is the most important job in the world. With your hours cut you can make the difference up just by cooking by scratch and all that other stuff one does at home.
Keep the feathers and stuff a pillow Sorry just my silly brain visualizing things.

Well you do have to know when to cut your losses, nothing makes for a hellish environment than working with crabby people. I'm sure this has been hard on you, but you'll have more time for quilting , gardening, making all those wonderful things I've seen on your site. And it is summer. Nice to be home with the kiddos....

Yes...Karin. I wake up in the morning dreading going to work and the last thing I think of at night is gettig up in the morning and going into work. It was awful these last few days. I am soo looking forwrd to watching my tomotoe plants grow and the little jack o lanterns I planted for Elliott...and the flowers.... Karin Oh the flowers that I planted are springing up! It was a really tough winter for us all around and I would dream of spring and the planting. I want to be home. It's me. Not a waitress at a multi-million dollar retirement home with snippy co-workers who act like they own the joint. I am so done with that career path. Thank you Karin you always have such "sage" and true advice and it is so greatly appreciated by this farmgirl!

Big hug...Karin.

Talk to you soon!

Better at home and happy than at a job you hate and that stresses you out for no good reason. The right job will find you, if that is what is meant to be.
When I closed my shop I stressed about a job, until I realized how happy we all were, and that is rare and very precious.
