That is what youngest son said!We made dandelion jelly today. We gathered the dandelions here on the place ...our best crop so far this year...haha. I put the recipe on my blog. It is really delicious and I loved that the kids saw that you can make something from "nothing" and it can be GOOD!!

All my dandelions are about gone. I will save this though in case more come back up. That looks so good. Now where do I get the liquid pectin? I have never seen that. Can Sure Gel be used instead?

I enjoyed your blog Jenny. Is the picture of the living room yours? It looks like we have the same kind of spinning wheel if it is, :^). I am def going to have to try the dandylion jelly. My husband's grandmother used to make jelly out of the darndest things, like beet juice, lol. She would just add a package of whatever flavor of koolaide for the appropriate amount of liquid/sugar/pectin ratio that was needed. It tasted good, but I don't make it because of the junk in koolaide, but they didn't know about all that stuff when Grandma made it.

Jenny I love the recipe - I took my dandelions and this year made syprup - cupboard still has some dandelion jelly. I am so glad you kids get to see that what someone else calls weeds we call wonderful food. I served up some of my syrup at a brunch and I thought I was going to get mobbed - too bad these ladies have husbands who believe those commercials about being the BAD neighbor if you have those bright bit of sunshine. Keep up the good work my farmgirl sisters.

the only liquid pectin I see around is Certo, I used to use it and it worked good. but it got a little more expensive so quit using it and went to powder

I usually use powdered pectin too, but bought Certo especially for this since it called for it. I don't know if powdered would work or not.
Our dandelions are nearly gone now too...I think this may be the last I get to make until spring. Boy..I should have done it earlier and made alot! Syrup sounds good, too, Grace! I will have to try that too.
Teresa Sue....yep..that is my living room..we were having a little farmgirl meeting in the picture...the gal off to the left with short brown hair is Libbie, the one on the couch with me is Katiedid, and the other is my sis Cherral, fun day! My spinning wheel is an Ashford Traditional. I love it!!

Jenny- It's beautiful! I feel that way about making Kudzu Jelly- something (good!) from nothing. Isn't that the best feeling? I think I will ask the hubs to forgo mowing for a while to get some dandelions!!

We don't have kudzu here, but I have heard of making jelly from it. I would love to taste that someday!
