Hi Trish,
I just bought a book on it called 'Kyuuto! Japanese crafts-Amigurumi. It looks like it is going to be so neat. The book allows you to take basic designs and go your own way with it. I haven't tried it yet, but I love the projects. There is a really cute cat that I am going go have to make soon. Hope you post a pic of the octopus. I would love to see what it looks like.

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Cute. MB Here are a couple site with free patterns
