Hi Trish,

I just bought a book on it called 'Kyuuto! Japanese crafts-Amigurumi. It looks like it is going to be so neat. The book allows you to take basic designs and go your own way with it. I haven't tried it yet, but I love the projects. There is a really cute cat that I am going go have to make soon. Hope you post a pic of the octopus. I would love to see what it looks like.

I had to search to see what this is.

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Cute. MB

In addition, the animals or dolls are always worked in single crochet, in the round (spiral) since you do not join the rounds.

It's been very popular for a while now..really some cute stuff out there.

Peg,
That is sooo cute! I've gotta get going on my cat and I will after I get my quilt basted and ready for quilting. Thanks so much for sharing.
