We bought quinoa at the coop this week and have been making it for breakfast every morning using the recipes and spice mixes from the Outpost book. It's very filling, and yummy! It sticks with you like eggs, but doesn't feel so heavy and it's good for you! My DH loves it.
Cherian

Looking forward to using it while we're camping and backpacking this summer, now that we've tried it at home with good results.

I'd love some more recipes for this. My husband is having trouble with gluten or celiacs disease, so I need to start using quinoa more. I'm not that creative with grains...

Great to hear your ideas on this...I'm excited to begin feeding this to my family! My 13 year old son is excited about it after looking at all of the possibilities shown in the Outpost book!

I found a Quinoa Pasta that is really good I found you have to cook it longer. But is still like it.

Cherian, did you use powdered coconut milk? If so, what did you think of it?

I think that I love everything about quinoa. Especially if you get the prewashed kind. It is so easy to cook, melds well with other flavors and I totally love the texture and the look of it. I had a bowl of it for breakfast the other day with dried cranberries and cashews and then I had it for dinner with steamed broccoli and tomato slices. It tastes good both hot and cold. Right now, I am thinking that it is the perfect food! If only I could get my family to eat it!
