This is a great way to use up some of that unsuccessful batch of soap all of us soapmakers have from time to time, use a basic castille cold process soap and a double boiler,I save my old vinegar bottles for storage and then put it in a pretty bottle for the sink, this recipe makes about 40 ounces of dish soap.
Rosemary, sweet orange or lemon oil tends to help cut the grease but you could also use lavender, sage, patchouli or anything you really find pleasing to scent this soap, rinse your dishes well though as some oils tend to cling a bit more than others.
You will need 40 ounces water,16 ounces grated soap,1 ounce rosemary oil,1 ounce sweet orange or lemon oil.
Combine the water and grated soap in the top of a double boiler, gently heat until soap is melted and mixture is runny and clear, remove from heat, add the oils and glycerin, blend well and pour into your prepared containers.

Thanks Kathryn. This sounds too easy not to try.
