We have rushed headlong into flea season, and our pesky cat, Stooka, has been sleeping in the baby's crib when we're gone during the daytime and last night, I found a baby flea in Violet's crib! I just about died. We use Frontline for the pets, and we have no carpet, just rugs. Any suggestions?

Liberally sprinkle Borax on all the carpets at night and then vacuum in the morning. Do this for about 3 days running and the fleas should be taken care of. The borax dehydrates them and it kills them. Give the animals the frontline but then keep them away from her for a day or so until it has sunk it and then I would suggest giving them a bath before letting them near her again. I know that might sound paranoid, but that is what we did when we had to treat Sky with Frontline when Nora was little. And the Borax really really works well!

Lucky me, I have plenty of Borax on hand! I will do that as soon as I get home! Thanks, Alee.

Tea tree oil works for fleas and it won't hurt violet. I use it instead of products from the vet or pet store.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!

Jonni, you may want to consider getting one of those crib tents for Violets bed so at least kitty can't get to where she sleeps!! They Borax will work though.

Thanks, girls!

I think I will have to, Misty...today I put a laundry basket and a shopping bag that made lots of noise in there. No Stooka!

Lisa..I don't have the outpost book (I know...WHAT kind of FARMGIRL am I????) but if you could help, I'd appreciate it.

I will also get some tea tree oil. I remember now, that you've mentioned it, it does rid fleas. We are not infested (because I've become obsessive about looking) but there are few and that's a few too many!
