I have wanted to live on a farm for as long as I can remember! I love being outdoors, I love animals and I would love to live the country life. Right now I live in Grand Rapids Michigan. The houses here are only seperated by the width of the driveway. I would love to have some open space and the serenity that goes along with it. I have five kids, 2 of my own and 3 through marriage. The youngest is 16 and the other 4 are all in their 20's. I work full time at an Aerospace company and would love to start my own craft business. I have been making crafts and selling them for about 13 years. I was selling in the Country Sampler Store and they just closed down. I'm not sure where to go from there. I've tried different places to sell and I guess I just haven't found my niche. My sister (owwlady) introduced me to this site. I look forward to talking with everyone.

Hi Gail and welcome from a former Grand Rapidian I grew up in Plainfield Township on 20 acres and miss the slower pace of Michigan every day; where are you located? Whenever I go back there it's a shock to see all the subdivisions in my old neighborhood! Where was the Country Sampler Store?

This is a really fun place to visit! You may get some ideas for selling your crafts as some here do that online.

Hi Gail!! I think you will fit in just fine here..lots of us like to do crafts. Have you thought of having an online shop for your crafts? Several of us here do that and it is very easy..and cheap to do. Free to set up..low listing fees and I have had pretty good luck so far. Just a suggestion....those of us doing it like it. you can check it out at www.Etsy.com or click on any of our etsy sites...some of us have the link right at the bottom of our postings.

Nice to hear from all of you. In answer to susan kate, I live in Wyoming just outside of Grand Rapids. My husband and I are looking to move in a couple of years but we're not sure where. We'll still be in Michigan. Both of us would like to have a few acres of land and I would love to have some animals. Right now I have a dog,(nigel), two cats (petie and chloe) and a hedgehog(norman). I don't have a digital camera yet, but I want to get some pictures of my crafts and try to sell online. I have heard of etsy and I have created a shop. Now I just need to get some pictures. The Country Sampler Store that I was in was in Greenfield WI. I'm originally from the Milwaukee area and my family still lives there. I really miss being there and spending time with my sister. We're best friends and it's hard not to be able to see her everyday. I get back there every month or two. It's about a 4 1/2 hour drive. My sister told me about the dolls that Aunt Jenny makes. They're really cute! I heard that you are sending out the information on how to make them. I would really like to try one. Please let me know where you are posting the instruction.

Gail, I know where Wyoming is...not really that far from where I grew up! Good luck with finding your acreage! I have some thoughts of moving back there where it would be more affordable to buy land than it is here, and I would love to talk to you some time about areas you are considering.

As for the doll making class, head right on over to the Stitching Room forum here and look for "Cabin Fever doll class" to see what's up and let Miss Frannie know you want to join.

toodles,

I figured you'd find me here sooner or later. I thought the dolls you had told me about were Aunt Jenny's. My apologies Aunt Jenny! I'll check out the dolls and the yo-yo's.
