We have been told by the pediatrician that Violet is more like a 4 month old than an 11 week old, and she really is trying to stand up, already sits up and seems to always be "on the go"--her legs and arms are in almost constant motion!
When I place her in the crib at night, I lay her like she should be in the crib--longways. When I come to get her in the morning, she has kicked her blanket off and is usually sleeping diagonally, or completely sideways in the crib (head to toe across the width).
Why does she seem to move around so much when sleeping?

My daughter used to do that when she was an infant, I guess i just thought she was dreaming and moving around a little, kind of like when you see a dog or a cat kind of "running" in their sleep. I'm sure she's just perfect.

I'm glad to know she's in good company, Karin (with your girl) I guess I just worry she's going to bump her noggin--we have a smaller, older crib (not like these King size beds they have for newborns nowadays) and this morning, she was fairly "compact" in there--she's a little long--23 inches. If I put in a bumper pad, she's really not going to have any space to "angle"...We hadn't done so because of the fear of god they put into you about bedding, but I'd rather head be up against something soft!!

Both my kiddos did that...lol. Too smart! Their minds were too big for their bodies so they turned sideways to give themselves room for a bigger brain stretch. :D At least that's we talked it up to!! :)

Yay! Good to know! I'm glad to know it's because she's healthy and not stressed...this being my first and all, I can really let my imagination run!
She's a wiggle worm, I'm telling you--I keep telling her that she doesn't have to accomplish all this stuff in one weeks time (like sitting up, standing up!)

Well, it makes me feel 100% better if cutie patootie Oliver does it, as well, Melanie! She's always sortof diagonal, but this morning, she was wedged across pretty good! Little stinker! Guess I shouldn't complain because she's actually sleeping 6-7 hours now--sideways or no!!!!

All 3 of my kids have done that. I just put the bumper pad in the crib. I figure if they are old enough to wiggle that much they will certainly move around if they are to close to it!
It's hard to believe she is almost 3 months old!!! WOW |

My third son always slept on his side as an infant. He was usually on his side when they did the ultra sounds, so I'm guessing that is what he was used to in the womb. All 3 of my sons moved all over their cribs when they were infants. I had a bassinet, but they banged around too much in it.

Mine too!
She was trying to stand by the time she was only a few weeks old, her ped did NOT believe me!
Let me tell you this, don't be surprised if walking starts early! My daughter never crawled, just stood up and walked at 6 months old! Before that she would hold on to things and pull her self up and walk. But, she was walking completely by herself at 6 months, by 8 months she was running!
I have a funny story though, when she was 4 weeks old she was in our bed with us sleeping, I woke up hearing my husband screaming! She was clawing his back with her fingers, and he was dreaming a tiger was attacking him! lol hahahaha

That's a bit of a fear, Heather! We have some house projects to still get done (like a new kitchen floor!!!)...I kindof feel like she's ready to roll, though--very much like your little one. She already rolls over to one side, and as I mentioned, turns herself around like a clock dial while in the crib.
Right now, she likes to sit up on my lap like she's 6 months old...and she likes to be "in on" the conversation. We go to a family friendly restaurant locally because if she cries, you probably won't hear it over the din of the other 300 kids, and I'll hold her on my lap and she rests her little arms an elbows on the table, like she's 30 or something!
Oh my gosh, what a funny story about your husband and the little one in the bed!
I better get my runnin' shoes together, and all the safety stuff done in the house that I thought we could put off a little bit. I think what you say is true!!!

Yes, I was shocked, and so were most people. She's also on the small side, people were shocked every where we went, they would say, oh my she's so tiny, how can she be walking! She only weighed about 9 lbs!!!!!! Literally, cause she weighed 12 lbs at 12 months old. So you can imagine how small she was at 6 months old. (she was a preemie, so her real age of walking was really more like 5 months old! But, her from birth age was 6 months!).
And funny enough she still does the clock dial! lol hahahahaha But, oh yes, rolling over was FAST. And sitting up, by 3 or 4 months old she was sitting up by herself. We have pics! lol

My youngest daughter did oh may goodness. If we were somewhere and and we had to pair up to sleep we drew straws who had to sleep with her.LOL

That is so funny, Tina and Starmeadow....I know I was a rambunctious sleeper as a toddler (that's why they pushed my bed up against the wall) but I don't think I started it so early...of course, everyone is different. She sure is something though, and I'm enjoying every second of her little idiosynchrosies!
