Hi all!

Some of us who are going to be vendors for the BBB (Farm Fair 2009) make products (like soaps and lotions) that can have an essential oil or fragrance oil added-

So I thought for all of us who will be vending these types of products- what are your favorite fragrances and essential oils?

Thanks!

ROFL! That is funny Diana! A few of those will have to be fragrance oils- like Vanilla. Vanilla essential oil is around $90 an ounce! Ouch!

Cantaloupe sounds so good and Pomegranate too!:)

How about:

~Lavender
~Honeysuckle
~Pink Grapefruit
~Mint ( My honey bought me some handmade soap one year and it was peppermint w/poppy seeds, very nice :))
~Cedar for men (can you use cedar oil for soaps?)

Have you gals ever checked out: http://www.pinemeadows.net/

I love their fragrance and essential oils. They have a Red Currant that smells wonderful, their Fresh Ginger, and their Lime are great too :)

There's fragrance oil that you can get that smells like leather and one that smells like dirt. Maybe those would work for the man scents.

LOL! Yes Doug once had a soap he loved that was a combination of Leather, musk and maybe sandalwood? I need to play around until I can replicate that scent.

I am really excited. I have been on a soap making spree!
I have now made Pomegranate, Lemon, Lemon Shaving Soap, and one of the most lovely lavender soaps I have made in a while! Even as I was mixing it I could the ripples getting this great silkiness.

I need to get a bit more coconut oil. I love the fact that I have an excuse to indulge in my favorite hobby!

I want to see pictures! I can hardly stand waiting to see the soap when I make it and I feel the same way about it when others make soap.

Any excuse to indulge the soapmaking hobby!!

LOL Okay Kay! I will try to take some pictures tomorrow! My lemon soap turned out the most beautiful color! I should have swirled it, but sometimes you just have to go with the solid color!

Looks like I have found some- but I can't guarantee it is alfalfa- it might be grass hay.

Grass Hay sounds sounds good. I like the sound of a soil/earthy scent. Can't wait to meet you all at the farm fair!
