Today I got all my container flowers planted. After I planted everything I noticed that my bag of soil said garden soil and said "Not for containers". I had mixed that soil with another bag of potting soil, which is for containers. The garden soil was Miracle Grow garden soil and didn't seem to have anything harmful in it, it said forest products (whatever that is), peat moss, humus, manure, etc. Will my little flowers be okay? What is the difference between container and potting soil?!

Your plants should be okay since the garden soil was mixed with a potting soil. Potting soil allows for better drainage. Something that is very important when using containers.

Good luck!

Just watch for proper drainage. Dont let the soil get too wet and soggy!

i used garden soil in my pots and so far so good. if they don't make perhaps thats why though. but i asked several people i work with in our garden area and they said there isn't that much difference. that the potting soil was made to stay moist and not dry out. so if you do use it just watch your watering. for me i really couldn't aford the price differnce. but like i said down the road i may pay for it. i'll let you know on it though Elizabeth.
