I came home yesterday to a wonderful surprise. My hubby had built me a fenced in kitchen garden with raised beds on the inside! The garden is on the side of our house and was "fenced in" with chicken wire with a framed gate and a sign overhead the gate that said " Nana's Garden". The raised beds were made from first cut runs from the lumber yard and it was beautiful. Stone was laid out between the beds.

Even though we have six acres I had wanted a kitchen garden that would supply our immediate veggie and herb needs and he made me one. I almost cried because he worked so hard to have everything done by the time I got home.

live well,
Tamara

What an absolutely wonderful gift, from an absolutely wonderful man. It sure doesn't take much but a few growing things to thrill a farmgirl!!

Thanks girls. I could not think of a more wonderful gift.

Now I have to brag just a little more . Hubby then ran me a bath and gave me a hot stone massage just before bed. all this because he said "you deserve it". No speacial day on the calender or anything! My mother and daughters have said for years that they broke the mold after they made DH and i believe them!

Aww. I'm speachless. That's just so wonderful. You better watch it though a man that good and people will want to start reanting him out, if anything to give lessons to other men.

Yea my girls ( 29, 24 & 23) keep comparing guys to their dad and it just doesn't work. ... As Alee said they can be trying at times but the reality is that he is the best.

I am so excited about this kitchen garden I can't take it!!

How very sweet and exciting. We've talked about doing that, but it hasn't moved up on the "to do list" yet. Maybe someday.........

You enjoy yours and please do share a picture if you can.
I echo what the others said - your husband sure is a nice guy.

Phyllis ~ Yea the slaps look great and cost nothing! I will get pics if it EVER stops raining... Another thing we did was talk to some of the animal farmers in the area and loaded up there animal manure to compost. This is gold for your dirt!!

Right now i am stopping by creeks and gathering rocks for some rock beds in the front yard...again FREEBIES
