I'm new here so this may be old hat. My dh put up a four wire clothes line with pulleys for me over the weekend. (Yeah!) The next issue was a bag for pins. I found this site with LOTS of good patterns and ideas and thought I'd share it.

Btw, my "bag" is a recycled VBS tee shirt with my daughter's four year old handprints on it - it's a neat reminder to pray for her while I'm hanging out clothes!

Wow, thanks, Roslyn, I have been thinking about making one but my sprinklers hit the lines and the last one (just the top of a pair of jeans), got all stained from the water and dust. So I found a crochet plastic bag one that will really suit the bill. Not looking forward to working with oil based products but at least it is one less item in the landfill. :)

Roslyn - nothing is old hat here! I love new and old patterns. My son is going to put up my clothesline sometime? if it ever stops raining long enough to do anything outside. My clothespin bag is a toddler size dress I picked up from the thrift store and sewed the armholes and bottom shut. It's cute!

Awww - you guys make me feel right at home! I've REALLY been enjoying the clothes line, but I wish some of that rain would come here . . . it's getting a bit dry and without adequate water the plants don't make much nectar, meaning my bees won't make as much honey. Such is the cycle of life

I'll try to get a pic next week providing my camera will talk to my computer. :)

The washline...I love it.. There is something about the towels and sheets hanging outside to dry..MAGIC....! I have a small yard, and we have a small clothesline on a pole..it isn't my idea of a perfect clothesline...but at least there is somewhere for me to dry outside. I found tipnut too, and I made the clothespin bag that looks like a little dress..too cute..:)

Faith, I also have a clothesline on the pole. Mine is collapsible and I love it. It is either that or no clothesline.

I don't know Tipnut's gets me into too much trouble - way too many fun things and never enought time.

Because of the winds here and the occasional llama who thinks they should assist with the laundry I place my clothing on very large antique drying racks. Most of the time they are in the basement quitely doing their thing but on calm days I might try the deck. I have a wonderful hanging basket from Longenburger that house my clips but have made several cloth one's in the attempt to get folks hanging out their cloths.

Thanks for giving me more goodies to wish I had time to make - happy drying.

Thanks
I have a clothes pin bag that my dear deceased grandmother made me years ago.
it is a pattern that is really old
it is made like a dolls dress with a collar.
Gran use to take patterns she liked and make hers from news paper. hugs sheila
