I was wondering if any of you ladies do any leather work?

I have this idea of what I want to get or make my honey man for either his birthday or Christmas. He's into cowboy kind of stuff, especially team roping. I thought it would be nice to get him a belt with a team roping scene worked into the leather. I have looked and looked and can't find anything online or in the stores.

So I was wondering if any of gals made this sort of thing, know anyone that does? Is this craft hard to learn or expensive to start? I know lots of questions.

If you are interested in making it yourself, the starter kit is not to expensive for a beginner. Goggle Tandy Leather and go to their site. There may even be a store near you to visit in person! I have done lots of leather work in the past, the tools are easy to work with and I think you would love doing this!!

I used to do alot of leather tooling....belts, wallets and small stuff. I have only done very simple stuff with cubscouts in the past few years. I agree about checking the Tandy Leather website. It is fun and I bet you would love it. I don't have access to all the tools I used to (they were my grandpa's and are with my Uncle in Colorado now) so I havn't done it in a long time. I am sure I will again someday. Have fun!
