I can't sleep because of a loud boat out on the lake grrr We're camping and I am wide awake. Anyhow, when I was young one of my favorite toys was the old german victorian style picture blocks. They had a fairy tale on each side of the block and you had to put them together I spent hours playing with them. The other one was my record player called "close and play" I just loved them both

What a fun topic!!
I would have to say my favorites were my doll, my record player, my felts, and my bike... oh and a few beloved stuffed animals that doubled as dolls (because I only had one). Can not wait to read everyone's!!
Hugs!!

My favorites were a stuffed donkey with casters underneath for riding on. That thing was so flat and swaybacked from riding him! I also loved my Lincoln Logs and Breyer horses.

lol Mary Beth thats sweet! Very creative I think, your not weird. I'd forgot about paper dolls, I LOVED paper dolls. I had lots of them. I loved to change their clothes and hats. And I remember when I got my first talking barbie doll. You pulled a string on the back of her neck. My hubby tried to get me one on ebay a few months ago and I dared him to get it, it was over $200 dollars! CRAZY I just enjoyed looking at her picture lol

I loved my Liddle Kiddle dolls, my easy bake oven, and the paper dolls my grandma saved for me from the back of her McCall's Magazine.

I too loved my easy bake oven and my Mrs. Beasley doll. I loved to take off her square-framed glasses and wear them. I also had a Madge doll-Barbie's friend (all hard plastic, with no bendable joints, and very pointy breasts)and my grandmother, who worked as a buyer for a dept. store in S.C., had the seamstress make the most wonderful owfits for Madge to wear. I can remember (in 3rd grade) all the girls at school wanting to trade owfits with me for their store bought clothes. No way! Each owfit my grandmother had made was just beautiful. The seamstress even made undergarments and accessories to go with the doll clothes. I've kept them all and if I have grandgirls (I have 2 sons) boy, won't we have fun.

I liked my barbies which my grandmother had knitted tons of clothes for. I also loved my record player too. But those were wintertime toys. In the summer I ran the mountains around my house. I liked to build fairy villages out of bark and rocks leaves and berries. I believed that they lived there when I wasn't looking so I was always adding new houses or furnishings that I built out of match boxes or what ever I could scrounge up. I would keep that village going the whole summer. Then the winter snows would smash it and next spring I'd start over in a different spot.

When I little and supposed to be taking a nap I would very quietly play my Roy Rogers record on my suit case looking record player. I loved playing records. Then one day I had the bright idea to use my record player as a pottery wheel and collected som mud from the creek. Just as I was about to mix mud, WATER and the ELECTRIC record player my dad luckily intercepted! My dad was the best, he built a big tipi in the back yard for all us kids to play and make things in.
