I went to bed utterly exhausted. I had been up since 3:30am yesterday and so going to bed early felt so great...
Yesterday was a gorgeous day, so I had opened just about every window in the house to get that nice fresh air in.
In my exhaustion I forgot to close all the windows before I went to sleep.
This morning, I woke up hearing birds chirping and the nicest cool breeze blowing across my face. Just cool enough to make me snuggle into my warm bed, not cold enough to make me cold.
That's when I realized that we had left the windows open all night!
It was so nice to wake up hearing the sounds of nature, and since our part of town is very quite- I didn't hear tons of traffic. In the house we used to live in, there would have been NO WAY that we would have slept with the windows open- too dangerous! Here I have no worries about having the windows open!

That sounds so nice, Alee. Here I would be woke up about 4:30 every morning from a rooster. Although I do need to get up early that is a bit too early for me. 3:30 is an early start. You have very long days.

i'd love to be able to leave my windows open here and enjoy the sounds of nature, but all i would hear would be traffic and trains. i miss hearing all the birds singing and the crickets chirping.

I can't wait until I can leave the bedroom windows open at night, it is still a bit too chilly for that here yet. Our neighbors tree is right outside our bedroom window and though I don't know what kind it is it does bloom into the most beautiful white flowers in spring that smell wonderful. I love waking up to that smell and having the whole bedroom smell like those flowers! The birds chirping is my favorite sound in the world! Glad spring has arrived in your neck of the woods, Alee! -Elizabeth |
