Anybody else out there a Susan Boyle fan?
It's true...Never judge a book by it's cover! I am speechless with awe. Her voice is positively Angelic!
Les Miserables
Fantine is left alone, unemployed and destitute
FANTINE sings----
There was a time when men were kind When their voices were soft and their words inviting There was a time when love was blind And the world was a song and the song was exciting There was a time then it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high and life worth living I dreamed that love would never die I dreamed that God would be forgiving Then I was young and unafraid And dreams were made and used and wasted There was no ransom to be paid No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night With their voices soft as thunder As they tear your hope apart and they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side He filled my days with endless wonder He took my childhood in his stride But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me That we will live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be So different from this hell I'm living So different now from what it seemed Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
I just found this by Rod Dreher from the Dallas News...You have to read this!
...In the Scottish village of Blackburn, young Susan Boyle was struggling in the housing projects. She had a learning disability, making her a mark for school bullies. She retreated from their cruelty by devoting herself privately to song.
Boyle, now 47, never married and has never been kissed. She raised her eight brothers and sisters, cared for their parents until their deaths and volunteered at her Catholic parish. She's in middle age, with no job, all alone, dumpy, poor and, by the world's standards, a loser.
So when Susan stepped onstage the other night on Britain's Got Talent , the judges and the audience sniggered. She looked like a washerwoman from the sticks. What good could possibly come out of Blackburn?
Then she opened her mouth, singing the ballad "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. Her angelic voice brought the audience to its feet in seconds, swept away by its beauty and grandeur. Judges, including the spiteful Simon Cowell, were overwhelmed by the power of the plain-faced spinster's artistry. It was a moment of spectacular grace – and it has now been seen by more than 30 million on YouTube.
"I honestly think we were being very cynical," said one chastened judge after Boyle finished. "That was the biggest wake-up call ever."
Boyle told the British press that she overcame self-doubt and entered the contest to honor her late mum, whose 2007 death left her depressed. Said the miracle singer, "Out of darkness, came light."
That is her life, so far. Redeemed.
And, to others, redeeming. When I posted a link to the video of Boyle's performance on my Beliefnet.com blog, a reader named Grace responded: "I am a woman, 56, black, and I have been called a failure. I really cried when I saw Susan Boyle sing and read her story. It gives me much hope. Her day came, and I too dream and believe that my day to shine will come."
A Texan named Carol added: "I didn't want to cry, but I did. I'm 59 and have a life-threatening and debilitating disease. ... I watch as the world, including the church, seems to increasingly belong to the young and healthy. I have no singing talent like Susan's, but listening to her gave me the tiniest grain of hope that perhaps I am not yet a totally useless person."
Susan Boyle and her redemption song reminds us of the unheralded beauty and human dignity that dwells among us – but that we, in our everydayness, overlook or even scorn. And her feat shows that until we breathe our last, there is always hope that dreams will come true, that the humble will be exalted. Watching Boyle sing, one could somehow feel the worth of her soul – and maybe one's own.

I just love her. She is just so, so darn cute! Did you happen to see the Stavros Flatley youtube video? You must. It's a father and son dance team and they are wonderful! I promise you will laugh.

I wept when I saw the video. God has blessed her with the voice of an angel.
I think that if a mortal ever heard the voice of God, it would be in a garden at the cool of the day. (F. Moore)
