Okay so going back almost 6 months- Nora and I spent a lot of time at my paren'ts house in December. At their house they have the flipper style door knobs and so Nora learned how to open those rather quickly.
But up until yesterday- round doorknobs were still a bit too much for her to be able to open.
Not any longer!
She has officially learned to open her door now! Yesterday I woke up from a nap to hear her little feet pattering across the floor and today she came to our bedroom to wake us up!
I can hardly believe how strong and tall she is getting!

Isn't it amazing??? I love watching the little ones grow . My best friend's daughter is about to turn 16 and I held her in my lap when she was just a day old! I know that I'm older than you Alee, but it truly is a blessing to watch them grow. No peace now! Nora will be everywhere! =)

Time sure does fly when they are little. It was fun to watch my own kids learn how to do things on there own.

I remember my sons doing that it was scary but if they ever got out they knew to cross the lawn and get a cookie from Gramma. My grandson just started doing this and I have to be really careful because his buddy lives across the street. Its not a busy street but busy enough.
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |

Uh oh. Be prepared for anything, now! Our little niece, Ava, was REALLY adept at opening doors at a very early age, so she would wake up at 6 am, and then go open up the door to the nursery to wake up the baby, too...that got old REALLY quick!

It's not a bad idea...apparently it runs in our family. My MIL told me that one day, she was taking a nap because Jus had been doing so (at around 15 mos.) He apparently could also open doors, and she woke up with a start and couldn't find him but noted the solarium door ajar. Jus was down the street "talking" to the garbage men!! After that, she put alarms on all the doors and new bolts :)

Apparently...she said it was the scariest thing ever. What was a "wow" factor about her son quickly turned into an "oh no!" ....my fear is that Violet will have some "supernatural" power :0 We already call her UltraViolet like a superhero...:)

You can buy door knob covers at Walmart that you have to squeeze in order to turn the knob. We installed these on the front and back door when our kids started to escape at early ages! It makes it impossible for a child to open the door. -Elizabeth |

Elizabeth, that's what they brought for Ava when she was going into the baby's room to wake him up with the chickens! Actually, they work pretty well for adults, too :) I had trouble opening the doors, myself!
