Just saw Nanny McPhee and really enjoyed it. In true farmgirl fashion I was more interested in seeing the quilts, cutwork, lace, etc. from the Victorian era than the dialogue! Checkout the childrens pillowcases!! Evangeline(the scullery maid) has a wonderful apron that she wears in the beginning of the movie. I thought the scene in the kitchen where the kids are being EXTREMELY naughty went on and on, but it could be just me getting OLD!! I don't do well with screaming children these days!! I liked the movie. It was a fun time. Just dont expect Mary Poppins! Luzy

I have been thinking I want to go see this one..havn't been to the movies much lately...did go see The Chronicles of Narnia with all the kids, but that was the only one in ...gosh..maybe 6 months..we don't go often. Do you think it would be an okay movie for an 11 year old, 2 9year olds and an 8 year old to see? Or should I go without..haha...hmmmmmmmmm

Oh sure Jenny, ya gotta go with the kids to see it!! I wont give too much away but I think YOU would enjoy seeing all the farm animals dressed up like I did!! Yes, even the chickens have little hats and aprons on!! We can relate to dressing up barnyard animals, huh Jenny!? The dancing, talking donkey is too cute!! The only creepy part of the movie was when you see the Dad go to work as a mortician, (there's a couple of dead guys laid out)but it's not too bad. Their toes creeped me out!! Silly I know! Luzy

I noticed in one of the ads on tv that they have two basset hounds like us too!! My kids saw that right away and figured it HAD to be a good movie if they had bassets!
I used to dress up all my animals when I was a kid...loved it. My grandpa kept ponies for us..he LOVED horses..and only had ponies until we were old enough to ride the horses..it was great! Anyway..he had one little shetland pony named Buttons who we dressed in all sorts of humilating ways..he was a gelding..but we dressed him us as a girl all the time..he would have more spangles and ribbons and braids than a hoochie dancer! And always a bonnet!!
CHickens with hats and aprons..I will have to see it now for sure!!!
