Awhile back I asked for help on ideas for handmade fundraising ideas. Still need more.... But I now need some ideas for fundraising events. Such as a chili cookoff, a carwash, ect. Please give me some more of your crafty unique ideas, Thanks so much

What about a quilt show or quilting bee? Or Maybe you could host a Renaissance Fair and charge admissions? I guess it depends on what folks in your area like to do. Around her Car Crash derbies are always lots of fun and well attended. Or an ice cream social with lots of booths and activities?

Mikki, What are you raising money for, that will depend on the ideas? Maybe you already said but I missed that part. If it is for church I have some great ones. If not I will have to think a little bit.

Our neighborhood held a Yard Fair one year. Advertised it as a yard fair. It was actually a rummage sale. The fair covered about an acre. Had tents set up and everything. Had a bake sale, sold cold sodas and sandwiches. Had a woodworking craft booth, a plant sale and had our "rummage" in catagories. Like a ladies clothes tent complete with mirror. Children's cloths were sized, and seperate from the rest of the clothes. It was fun and a very successful sale. Some people came just to see what a yard fair was. |

A long time ago we did a "make it, bake it bring it or buy it" auction with the focus on making and baking. We raised a lot of money as craftpeople and artists love to support each other. There was quilting, knitting, sewing, home made breads, cookies, cakes, lasagnas and one dad even made a doll house. Good luck. And let us know what you decide to do and what charity it is for. I am always willing to donate things for a worthy cause. Michele

Make up baskets, like a choclate basket, cleaning, coloring, candle, 1st aid, cake baskets and sell tickets at 3 for a dollar and they put there names in the baskets they want to win if their name is drawen they win if not oh well it went to a good cause.
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |

What about "Farmers Market", you could have booths of food or flowers from the garden, dried stuff from last years garden, any homemade item, homemade soap, candles, jams, set up booths of items for a type of swapmeet affair(nicknacks, jewelry, tools, books), have one or two big items you could have to sell tickets for. All you need are tables or shelves. You could aslo offer car washes, dog baths, or sell IOUs for window washing, lawn mowing, yard clean up, baked items, its unlimited. It can be as big as a mall parking lot or as small as your front yard.
Be good to yourself and be good to this earth.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful ideas! Michele, any items you would like to donate would be greatly appreciated!!! The fundraiser is for RELAY FOR LIFE, which is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. I became involved last year after my Mom died with cancer. I am Team Captain of our team "The Handmaidens". I've been making some dishcloths to sell the day of event which is June 12 and 13th. Any donated items we either sell or put in our event auction. I'm hoping to have a lot of donated handmade items. Thanks so much again for all the great ideas! P.S. you can use the acs link below to go to my Relay page.

My church raised money last year by holding an auction. Most everyone in the congregation came up with something to offer for bidding. Some people donated handicrafts and physical things (like I donated a gift certificate from the spa at my work). Others donated time or services, like weekend use of their cabin up north, a hunting trip on their land, dinner delivered to your door, and accounting services.

crafter show with the farmers market, everything has to be hand made. You can have a kids buying area where nothing is over a dollar.
