I've been making homemade yogurt again and finally got around to trying a yogurt smoothie. We've made blueberry, using frozen berries, which was really good. Yesterday, I made banana for my DH and I and that was good, too. I don't really have a recipe, just add plain yogurt, fruit and honey into a blender and give it a whirl.
Would you please share your favorite yogurt smoothie recipes and tips.

You can also use maple syrup in your smoothies. I love using frozen berries, it makes it so good.

I went to Panara Bread, and they had a yogurt breakfast item. It was sooo good. It looked easy to make. It looked like they put a couple of Tablespoons of yogurt in the bottom of a glass sundae thingy, then a few strawberries then more yogurt, more strawberries, and then topped it with granola. I am sure you could put any type of fruit. Best of all, no blender to clean up!! Let me know if you try it.

I just kindof made mine up, but I sure do love it!
For berry smoothies, I use cranberry juice, cran strawberry or something "red" or purple. For peach, melon or tropical fruits, I use orange juice.
So, a 1/4 cup of juice, a 1/2 cup of fruit and as much yogurt as you like for texture. If I'm using frozen fruit, I like to leave it a little "frozen" and it creates a nice texture.

We're smoothie lovers here too. I do the same as you. I keep my bananas frozen (over ripe ones are perfect) I add some juice, ground flax seed and ground wheat germ for extra vitamins. We like ours frozen too. It's a wonderful breakfast in the spring & summer months.
I had a link for a sweet potato smoothie. Sounded interesting. I'll see if I can find it.

I use frozen non-fat vanilla yogurt, cranberry juice, banana and strawberries for one type of smoothie or instead of the banana & strawberries, buy frozen smoothie berry mix in the freezer case. It usually has pineapple, mango and other fruits. Works really well.

Wonderful tips for yogurt smoothies! I can't wait to try freezing the yogurt. And, maple syrup is a favorite with my family - we'll have to try that. I've never thought about adding fruit juice - another yummy idea. Adding flax and/or wheat germ are excellent ways to make smoothies more healthful - I'll have to sneak that in.LOL Layering yogurt, fruit and granola - a favorite here --- it's like having dessert for breakfast.
