Walmart and Sams Club........it always makes me super overwhelmed with choices and things and I am one of those people if it's shiny I get distracted. I seriously feel like a breakdown after going there. I avoid it so much. I am grateful for these places to get things, but ugh. I did get a Mother Earth News at Lowes and I'm excited to make things and garden. AHHH I just kept thinking of you all and how I want to just crawl in this forum and stay with you girls. I'm loving everything I have going on, but at the same time feel a bit odd and lonely because of being 26, no family of my own (like kids or hub), and just having different values than most my age. I just think of you all and smile and keep on keepin on :) xo

Hehe Lori, well thanks for the offer but I think I want my own and to start with a baby, not a teen :-p I teach pre-teens and that's enough hehehe.
I just can't get over how happy and helpful all the FGs are and the SUPPORT. It's like a big ol bra!!! Tee hee. It's refreshing to see people with gumption, values, morals, and drive:)

Bridget, YOU are the breath of fresh air. It's so wonderful to find someone in their 20's who has the same values and morals. You aren't alone in how you feel. Even after divorce, single mom of 2, I was living in CT and everyone I worked with thought I was nuts to be buying canning jars and sewing, etc. And forget about men. Well I met my loving DH on eHarmony and moved west. The point is, there are others just like you and it's so wonderful we can all come together in a place like this forum. Back east in the hubub there aren't many people to find like us, it's just different. MJF is wonderful for having this place for us to all come together. God Bless her, and young women like you Bridget! Cindy

LOL did any of you see that show last year about teens with their bf/gf learning to take care of a family and play house. They started with new borns on up to senior citizens.....it showed them how hard it is. I still wonder if I'll ever be "ready" lol but then again I know when it happens I will be, Lord willin.

Not only that, but being a grandmother is hard work too. I spent two weeks in CA with new granddaughter and it was fun, but was glad to sleep in my own bed. At least Mom and Dad didn't have me getting up at night, but I used muscles I haven't used in a long time! She sure is a cutie though. Love her to death. |

Wow. 26. I remember where I was at 26. Had a 5 and 3 year old. Gardening, canning, all the things I'm doing now. I think I did way more then than I do now. It was fun, for sure.
I admire you for waiting and knowing yourself and what you want out of life instead of jumping in without thinking. Good for you. Wait til you are ready , then everything will fall into place. You are still young and have plenty of time to get yourself together. Keep it up, girl!

I know exactly how your feel, Bridget! Any time I go into Wal-Mart- especially the clothing section I get really over whelmed. I think of all the people who actually had to sew the same shirt over and over and over again to make all those shirts go out to all those Wal-Marts! Did you know Wal-Mart is the single largest employer in the US?
I don't like shopping there much anymore either. However I must admit I did go to our local Wal-Mart the other day. It is only about a year or two old so really new. I went in the middle of the day and at first I thought "This is so weird! Normally Walmarts are glaringly bright, but this light is so soft and diffused. I wonder if this is a new marketing strategy to make people walk closer to the merchandise?" Then I realized they had NO LIGHTS on ANYWHERE in the store! All the light was coming from a massive system of SkyLights! It was really neat to know that such a beheamouth as this Wal-Mart was at least not burning electricity during daylight when they had the Sky Lights as well!
I much prefer shopping at smaller, local stores whenever possible!
