i use the stitch bow system, and i love it.. i can organize all my floss for a project in one sleeve, and keep it with my piece.. so much easier than the old bobbins we had before. makes it easier to travel with a project as well.
Personally, I don't use that system. I buy plastic bobbins and mark them with the color number and wind the floss on the bobbin. There are compartmentalized boxes you can get very cheap at craft stores or Walmart and the bobbins fit in perfectly. I generally don't wind the bobbins at all until they are starting to get a bit skinny and I'm in danger of losing the floss label. I guess everyone needs to get the system that works for them.
Never heard of it before... loks pretty cool. I have a lot of time and effort in the organization system I have right now to change! Of course seeing it made me wonder how easy it would be to semi-duplicate it with at-home recycling materials... hmmmm.
Jana, Do you find that you spend alot of time just winding the bobbins? I always got frustrated taking the time to do that. I also didn't like that the embroidery thread seemed to be twisted all the time. I've been using the Stitch Bow system because I like that you just pop the thread right onto the bow and you're done. I also like the accessories for traveling! Those are great. I'm not sure I'm happy about the expense of the binders though. Right now I have most of the bows in a basket which isn't the most convenient.
Angie - let us know if you find other ways for storage. That would be great!
