Here's some news from the Capital Press newspaper today...
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) - A Kitsap County hearing examiner denied a permit for a Montessori school near Port Orchard in part because the laughter of children could annoy neighbors.
Examiner Ted Hunter said the Montessori Farmhouse School could be detrimental to the rural neighborhood because of traffic and the noise from laughing and screaming children playing outdoors.
Teacher Annette Weaver told The Kitsap Sun she plans to meet with neighbors to resolve concerns and may appeal to county commissioners.
Silly isn't it? My sister runs a licensed day care and when they moved to their new house, her license was in jeopardy unless her neighbors agreed to having the daycare next door because of the noise that the kids could make.
