Heather, they are so cute. Do you have more or is that it? What kind are they? We still have about 6 weeks to go. I am counting down the days now. It's so exiting. I love baby goats.

So cute! I always think they sound like human babies when they cry... Maybe that's why they call them kids. :)

Ahhh! What little cuties. What a nice barn, too. I really need to get out there and get mine cleaned up. And the milk room needs to cleaned up and gotten ready, too. But my heart's just not in it right now. I keep saying I have plenty of time, but it will sneak up on me real fast.
Ya'll have fun with your cute little kids.

Tasha, The babies and mama are beautiful. I have two pygmies myself and am thinking of adding to the litter. Can you take more pix of the barn area? I want to make changes to my goats area and would love to see what you have done.

wanna know about my barn? It's simple. I have learned that goats are adaptable and can live any place so long as there is shelter from the cold and wet and wind. hubby and I gathered pallets, nailed them together, insulted between them and put pallets in the middle as dividers. That's it. oh and a roof! I'll go take some photos later and you'll see. It's really very cozy and quite warm inside. Rob really wants to build something else but some constraints are holding that up for the time being. we have the materials, but they are still in the form of his parent's cabin! HA!
So...photos coming soon!!
OH! and they are laying on about 2 feet of straw to keep them insulated from the ground. their stalls have only been mucked out 2 times through the winter, so that helps to insulate too, just like with our rabbits and chickens. minimal mucking helps keep them warm.

Sweet! Sweet! SWEET!!! Heather! So far, I have been BLESSED with TWENTY-SIX little SURPRISES this year myself! (and I didn't even give the goats PERMISSION to breed this year! (LOL!!) It appears I'm still waiting on three does, possibly more-- unfortunately, I have had to bury 12 of the kids, some born in January, some this month (... sniff...), but the ones who've made it are simply ADORABLE!!! (there are 14 jumping beans in my barn right now!)
Tasha-- what kind of goat is Daisy? Is she a BIG goat, or a mini? It's hard to tell from the photo. I have Nigies. They are quite something. They come in a RAINBOW of colors. It's so interesting-- not to mention EXCITING -- to see what color and crazy patterns they will come out sporting. The blue eyes, so common in the breed, are VERY striking, especially on a "loud" colored kid (or even a solid colored one!).
Thanks for sharing the photos ladies. Wish I could post my own, but, unfortunately, our computer is too old and too TIRED to even try it. Congrats!!! ~~~ Hug the babies for me! ~~~ Tracy

Mine are pygmies. I just have four kids so far, but I have at least one doe to kid yet. I had separated my bucks on time last year, so no January or February kids this year. Tasha- I have two Shih Tzus named Daisy and Violet who are sisters!
My barn needs some massive cleaning. Well, half of it does anyway. I didn't use to keep animals in half-but I have a couple mini horses, the mama and baby goats, and a few other young goats. The floods last year had filled it up with 3 feet of floodwater. It's mostly clean, but there's a pile of stuff that floated around. My little goat Magnum is over there- some of you may remember last January when I had a kid born in -19 degree weather, who I had to move to the house for a few months. He is now a baby goat sitter! He's so gentle and pretty short with everything he went through, so I keep him with weaning babies. He likes having someone his own size to play with. I should take some pics of him. He's such a sweetie! I picked him up to move him out of the way when we were unloading wood the other day and he was nuzzling at my chin. He still remembers me as mama!

Your little Magnum sounds like a DOLL Heather.
I have one teeny goat in my bunch this year too. He was born in January, the smallest of a set of quads, and doesn't seem to be getting much bigger. Already the kids born nearly 2 wks ago are catching up to him! (I think one of the boys has already PASSED him!) I have to look at his HEAD to make sure he's not a "NEW" baby every time I go to the barn! (he was dehorned a few weeks ago and is still a bit BALD!)
One thing though-- "Rocky" may be the smallest goats in the barn, but he's ALWAYS "King of the Heap" at nap time!!! (his brothers, by the way, are named -- "Edgar," "Alan," and "Poe!") Aren't goat kids just a hoot?!
