I'd like to make and sell some aprons, but I don't want to step on anyones toes. My question is, can I sell the aprons I make from Mary Jane's Farmbook patterns? I've already made several of each style for myself, and I love them! I know there are lots of non-sewers out there who would enjoy them, too.

As far as I know, things that are published in books and patterns designed by anyone else but yourself are protected by copyright. For example, you can make copies of a pattern out of a book for your own use only. If you want to sell the item(s) you need permission of the author/designer. You find this advise usually in every book that contains patterns, designs, etc. right in the front, usually next to the impressum.
