O.k. my farmgirl friends - some weeks I get a lot accomplished - others - well not so much. But this week I'm on a roll. This was totally my sweet momma's idea. I wanted to make flags for our greenhouse - something catchy to hang throughout for a splash of color and whimsy. She suggested a vinyl tablecloth and well - you'll have to go see to find out. There are so many different ways to use this idea - I thought you all might like it. Happy Craftin' Cathy

Cathy,oh my gosh cute! I wish I were closer so I could come see your shop. Love all the attention to detail. Is that a fireplace mantle outside? Love it whatever it is (photo to honor soldiers). I'll bet you are such a fun person to spend the day with. Thanks for the post.

Hi sweet Glenda - yes, that is a fireplace mantel outside. I bought it last year and I used it for my 4th of July display. Then I took it to the shop and now it is one the porch. I've really enjoyed that piece - and who says you have to keep it inside?
This is one of my favorite pictures - It's a peaceful picture and it reminds me everyday of the sacrifices being made by our soilders.
So happy you enjoyed it! Many blessings for an absolutely beautiful day! Cathy

Cathy, I love this idea-give your mom a big hug from me! My mother-in-law (sorry gals, hate to use the letters-I know, it's a text thing) loves flags and this would be a great way to give her a "flag" of the month for each month. It wouldn't cost a ton and she'd really like it. This would also be a good post for the nifty-thrifty.

Well it jus' thrills me that you liked my "moms" cute idea.
Bonnie - the flag of the month for your mother-n-law sounds like a fantastic idea.
And to use them at the farmers market - how cute. You could make small ones and write and draw a picture of what ever your selling - great idea.
Someone else said -use as garden markers - that is a brilliant idea.
Now you all have got me wanting to make more!!!
Thanks for sharing with me too!! Cathy

Cathy - what kind of paint did you use? I love the idea for a banner for a booth - I need one for my Farmer's Market booth.

Hi Kay - I simply used acrylic paint that I had. Now, it depends on what your intentions are with these. If it is something that is going to be left outside - I probably would consider a latex paint with a sealer on it. The surface of that vinyl is kind of slick - so you want to make sure that is adheres well. I'm sure this project would be fine for a short time period - I'm not sure over an extended amount of time. But a perfect idea for your farmers market booth!!!! It would jus' be the cutest!!!!

Thanks Cathy. I know that you can buy outdoor acrylic paint too. Maybe I'll try that. Now to find a cute tablecloth.
