Around here the supermarkets often carry 2 lb tubs of pre-washed baby greens. (made by Dole, I think) I think there's spinach in it, and some red/purple lettuce that I love.
I would like to grow my own this summer but can't for the life of me figure out what types of lettuce it all is... Does anyone know?
If anyone had some advice for growing baby lettuces etc, I would love to hear.

I think the ingredient labels probably just say "lettuce" or some other vague description, not the actual varieties of the lettuce. Are the red and purple greens bitter or fairly sweet? Growing lettuce is really easy, just sprinkle your seeds on the soil, scratch some soil over the top, lightly water and they should sprout fairly soon. For baby lettuce, you would obviously just pick/cut when the leaves are still small. Some lettuces do not like hot weather and will turn bitter and go to seed too quickly.
http://www.cooksgarden.com/ Here is a link to a seed company that carries lots of lettuces. Maybe you can look at their pictures and find the variety you like. The mesclun mixes are sometimes what they use in the pre-mixed stuff at the grocery store. |

O.k. here's what mine has in it...organic baby red romaine,, organic baby tango, organic baby arugula, organic baby red leaf, organic baby green romaine, organic baby lolla rosa, organic baby mizuna,OBtatsoi, OBgreen chard, OBred chard, OBred mustard, OBred oak, OBgreen oak, OBfrisee, OB radicchio, OB green leaf, OBswiss chard, OB spinich,OB mache, OBbeet tops. This isn't from Dole but I am sure it is probably close to theirs. Hope this helps.
