You know how the big thing was sprinkle powder on your rugs then vacumn? Well I never thought that was a good idea, can't be good for the vacumn motor or the filter system. So today I thought, why not those dry bath salt crystals. I have a jar of lavender ones. They come in a zillion scents. Worked really nice. Don't be dumping a whole bunch on the rug, just a chicken feed throw.

My oldest son had Kawasaki Syndrome 26 years ago. One of the theories on how he got it was the carpet powder that you sprinkle on the floor bring up all the dust mites up to the surface of the carpet and my then baby inhaled it. To this day they still don't know what exactly causes this serious disease, but to be on the safe side don't use those carpet powders!

I put the essential oil on a cotton ball then suck it up. Well, I used to until I got a Dyson. Wonder if I could still do it with the bagless?

If you want to make your own vacuum bag air fresheners, you can use old fashioned corn cob litter. Just put some in a bowl, add your favorite fragrance oil, stir, and put into containers with lid. When you go to vacuum, add about a tablespoon to your bag and voila!
A note of warning to those with bagless vacuum cleaners. I don't advocate using any products containing fragrance or essential oils, as they will pit or melt the plastic of the receptacle(I speak from experience here).
