So a guy at work likes to poke fun of my farmgirlness...whatever! Anyway, he and his wife are totally into modern style and have given me a vintage yellow formica table from his grandmother(I love it!!! and its in great shape!!) and most recently, he brought me a big bag of crocheted doilies from his grandmother. In the bag are two items that I am curious as to what they are used for... they look like little doll clothes only they are crocheted shut at the top. One looks like a mini spaghetti strap dress but the hole where the head would go is closed. Same thing with mini shorts. Does anyone know what the purpose is?
Sound like they are potholders. My sister had one like that only she took it apart at the top so it was an open packet and calls it her "Ben & Jerry's Ice cream holder" so her hands don't freeze before she gets to the bottom of the carton LOL Michele
Pictures, please! Oh what fun, I love all the old goofy handmade potholders and other paraphenalia from old kitchens. I have pot holders all over the walls of my pantry. They look great, and are so cheerful. How nice to get a family collection...
