I spent most of the afternoon pulling green onions out of my flower beads. I hate those things. Does anyone know how to get rid of them without spraying chemicals on them or spending all day pulling them out?

Thanks,
Tina #455

What kind of onions are they? Do you eat them? I went out yesterday to try and find a green onion to put in my bean salad. My perminent onion patch(Egyp Walking Onions) were not big enough to harvest. Found three that were left in the ground from last falls planting. As far as getting rid of them, I think you will have to pull them up. I am having the same problem with garlic chives.

Walking onions are a large greenonion that when it goes to seed has many seed bulbs on a stem, like a garlic. In the fall the stem dries and falls over. Next spring there will be greenonions from the bulbs that fall over. That is why they call them walking, because they move over as far as the stem is long.

I just read what I wrote and if you can figure out what I said, good for you. LOL
