No sun here, either. At least not right now. It's raining. I am so glad it's not snow like they said it would be. But it's still early yet. It's also my sister's birthday today, too.

Phil, which is the Groundhog's name, has always been a big deal in our family. My grandmother lived in Punxy,PA where Phil lives in the city park there. :) My husband's birthday is on Groundhog day too. I think,it the mayor, but I can't remember. Pulls little Phil out of his little glass home and checks for his shadow. I am surprised that with all the trees and people, that the poor guys isn't scared right out of it and that is why we have to wait..lol They had a band and vendors and things like that. Almost like a little fair. So much fun!! You can go any old time during the year and see him there. It seems a shame to keep him on display in a cage like that, but he is so cute and sleeps ALL the time it always seemed whenever my grandmother would take us to see him. I guess I can get over the 6 more weeks of miserable winter, with the sweet memories of the fun we used to have this time of year when I was a kid.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, cookies in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming. "WOOHOO, What a Ride!"
