I found this old chest at the auction a few weeks ago, paid $2.00

And this is what I did to it!

Now it will have a loving, safe home for the rest of it's days. Wow, I need sun this winter is making me weird!

It's beautiful! What did you do on top? Is it covered foam?

That is just beautiful! What a great job you did on a piece that was probably headed for the landfill or burn pile. So, where's it going to go?

Hi-thanks so much for the compliments. My husband always shakes his head when I drag this stuff home, but I just don't believe there is any such thing as garbage. Yes, I check out the roadside on trash day! It's nice to be appreciated for my thrift!

I put ball casters on the bottom and used a thick piece of foam, which I did cover, for the top. The problem is that it is now too high for a bench, you kind of have to clamor up on it to sit comfortably. I may shave the foam down so it is more usable. I think it will look nice at the end of my bed. Very satisfying!

Thanks again,
Lisa

Love it!! If you want it a bit shorter maybe taking the rolling feet off would make it sit low enough to sit on top of it? Less moveable perhaps though. I wish I was as creative!

Whoa, that is amazing! Looks brand new. You sure do have an eye for that. How long did it take from when you found it til you finished it?
