Check out the pictures on my blog. I made a Mouse House (like a fairy house) hoping to attract the ice away from the yurt!

It's all decorated. I have some pretty tile and such so I might continue the saga tomorrow...

I had such fun. I felt like a 10 year old again. lol

That's really interesting, Allison. I would never have thought to do that. But, even now that I've got the idea, I'm not so sure I would encourage mice to stay anywhere NEAR my house. I have a VERY strong aversion to them and I'm afraid I'm just not as kind as you. I like your idea and all the decorating. It could be a fun little project in a rock garden and I could just call it a frog house or fairy house or something that doesn't give me the willies when I say it out loud!

Allison, that is so cute. what an imagignation you have. I hope the little mice are happy. And why wouldn't they be? It's a palace. And with a lighted doorway, too. I might just have to see what I can come up with, but for frogs. I have way too many kitties.

I think the javelinas will knock it down before the mice ever move in. They are like roaming wild pigs. No mice last night, but then, we ran out of propane in the middle of the night so the ceiling wasn't so warm. Had to get up and change the tank at 1:30 am.

My kids had a book when they were little "A Very Busy Day" by hmmm...I can't remember the author but she's a popular children's author/ illustrator and yet I can't find it even on Amazon so it must be out-of-print.

It was the day in the life of a little mouse family and they had a teacup bathtub and spool table, that kind of thing. So I was conditioned to not be entirely grossed out by the mouse-house thing. It does seem like a little fairy house to me. I will try to finish it today so I can't see the plastic lining.

Silly, but fun! And probably totally useless! lol

Useless or not, it is very cute. If I were a mouse I would live in it.
